The Kumiai of the United States
The Kumiai of the United States, numbering about 125 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Kumeyaay people, also called Iipay-Tipai or Diegueno after Spanish-era association with Mission San Diego de Alcala, whose ancestral homeland was severed by the 1848 border drawn under the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.
They are an indigenous people in the Central American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak Spanish.
