The people groups map
The people groups of the world page shows a point for every people group, sized by population. Click a point to see the group and open its profile. Every filter you set (gospel status, region, country, religion, affinity group, language, or a search) updates the map, the table and the totals together, and is saved in the page address, so you can bookmark or share exactly what you are looking at.
Use Color by to change what the colors mean:
- Strategic Progress Index (SPI): red for Unengaged and Unreached, gold for Engaged yet Unreached, green for No Longer Unreached. Use it to see where engagement is still needed and to discuss where your team, church or organization might send or partner.
- GSEC: the Global Status of Evangelical Christianity scale from 0 to 6, combining evangelical presence, access to Scripture and resources, engagement and recent church planting. In use since 2005, it shows the urgency of the task at a glance.
- Lostness priority: from Frontier peoples (less than 0.1% evangelical) through Pioneer peoples (0.1% to less than 0.5%) to significantly reached peoples. Use it to find groups among whom God has begun moving but who still need focused prayer and more laborers.
To see only the Unengaged and Unreached Peoples, untick the other two statuses. To see the Frontier or Pioneer peoples, color by lostness priority.
Countries, languages and religions
Each country page shows its people groups, how many remain unreached and unengaged, and the country’s weighted GSEC: each group’s GSEC score weighted by its population, which gives one measure of how lost a country is spiritually. Language pages list the groups that speak the language and the films and Bibles available in it.
