The Khasi of India
The Khasi of India, numbering about 1,695,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are an Austroasiatic people of Meghalaya's Khasi Hills linked by ancestry to Southeast Asia's Mon-Khmer peoples, distinguished by a matrilineal system in which the youngest daughter, Ka Khadduh, inherits property and husbands join their wives' homes.
They are an indigenous people in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak Khasi.
