The Hindi of Myanmar
The Hindi of Myanmar, numbering about 277,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a diaspora community descended from Indian laborers and civil servants brought to Burma under British rule, once over half of Yangon's population before 1937 separation from India brought disenfranchisement, riots, and mass departures by the 1960s.
They are an indigenous people in the Hindi people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Folk Hinduism, and they primarily speak Hindi.
