The Murui of Peru
The Murui of Peru, numbering about 1,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are an Amazonian people whose ancestors were decimated by forced labor, disease, and mass violence during the early twentieth-century rubber boom along the Putumayo and Igara-Parana rivers of the Peru-Colombia borderlands.
They are an indigenous people in the South American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion, and they primarily speak Spanish.
