The Wapixana of Brazil
The Wapixana of Brazil, numbering about 7,800 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are the largest Arawak-speaking people of northern Amazonia, straddling Roraima in Brazil and southern Guyana, whose oral tradition traces origins to the upper Rio Negro before being driven south by the Makushi under colonial-era pressure.
They are an indigenous people in the South American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion, and they primarily speak Wapishana.
