The Waiwai of Brazil
The Waiwai of Brazil, numbering about 2,900 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Cariban people formed from six smaller founding groups, including the Shereo, Parukoto, and Taruma, who converged near a 1949 evangelical mission in Guyana before many later returned to their present communities in northern Brazil during the 1970s.
They are an indigenous people in the South American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion, and they primarily speak Waiwai.
