The Yanomamö of Brazil
The Yanomamö of Brazil, numbering about 2,200 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are an Amazonian people of the Orinoco and northern Amazon basins spanning Venezuela and Brazil, living in kinship-based villages called shabonos where women grow most of the food, first sustained outside contact in the 1940s brought deadly epidemics.
They are an indigenous people in the Amazon people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Animism, and they primarily speak Yanomamö.
