The Yanomamo of Venezuela

The Yanomamo of Venezuela, numbering about 8,200 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are an Amazonian people of the Orinoco Basin first recorded in 1759 via a Spanish account of their war with the Ye'kuana, living in communal roundhouses called shabonos housing up to 400 people, decimated by disease during a 1980s gold-mining invasion.

They are an indigenous people in the Amazon people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Animism, and they primarily speak Yanomamö.
