The Huni Kuin of Brazil
The Huni Kuin of Brazil, numbering about 7,200 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are an Acre people who call themselves Huni Kuin, meaning true people, unlike the outsider name Kaxinawa, or bat people, who fled into the forest to escape enslavement by rubber tappers in the late 1800s, with a Peruvian branch migrating there a century ago.
They are an indigenous people in the Amazon people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion, and they primarily speak Cashinahua.
