The Pemon of Venezuela
The Pemon of Venezuela, numbering about 20,500 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a people of Venezuela's Gran Sabana whose tepui-studded homeland within Canaima National Park they believe is inhabited by mawari spirits, first drawn into sustained outside contact through 1838 incursions and a 1931 Capuchin mission.
They are an indigenous people in the South American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion, and they primarily speak Pemon.
