The Palikur of French Guiana
The Palikur of French Guiana, numbering about 2,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are the last Arawak-speaking population of a region once entirely Arawak, organized into clans and allied with the French, their villages burned and people deported inland by an 18th-century Portuguese expedition, some relocating to French Guiana after 1900.
They are an indigenous people in the South American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak Palikúr.
