The Gurma of Burkina Faso
The Gurma of Burkina Faso, numbering about 1,250,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are an agrarian Gur-speaking people centered on Fada N'Gourma in eastern Burkina Faso, tracing migration from the Gambaga escarpment alongside the related Mossi and Konkomba, farming sorghum and millet under a symbolic Gurma-Naba chieftaincy.
They are an indigenous people in the Gur people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Ethnoreligion, and they primarily speak Gourmanchéma.
