The Kachin of Myanmar
The Kachin of Myanmar, numbering about 1,070,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Tibeto-Burman people whose Jingpo ancestors migrated south from Tibet, ruled by the Nanzhao and Dali Kingdoms before forming independent highland chieftaincies, and who signed the 1947 Panglong Agreement securing approval for their own Kachin State.
They are an indigenous people in the Miri-Kachin people cluster of the Himalayan Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak Kachin.
