The Bit of Laos

The Bit of Laos, numbering about 2,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a small Austroasiatic community straddling the Laos-China border in Phongsaly Province and Yunnan's Mengla County, living in stilt houses and farming wet rice under the ritual guidance of a village spirit specialist called the mo mon.

They are an indigenous people in the Mon-Khmer people cluster of the Southeast Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Animism, and they primarily speak Bit.
