The Rufiji of Tanzania
The Rufiji of Tanzania, numbering about 579,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are an ethnic and cultural group of eastern Tanzania, closely associated with the Rufiji River and its floodplain and delta along the country’s central coastline.
They are an indigenous people in the Bantu, Central-Tanzania people cluster of the Sub-Saharan African Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Rufiji.
