The Sarthi of India
The Sarthi of India, numbering about 237,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a community of Mandla, Dindori, and Jabalpur districts, Madhya Pradesh, descended from a section of the Ghasia who worked as horse-grooms. Government service and self-employment have replaced their traditional occupation.
They are an indigenous people in the Hindi people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Chhattisgarhi.
