The Maran Nairs of India
The Maran Nairs of India, numbering about 477,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a community of Kerala performing death rites for the Nambuthiri Brahmin. The Maran Nair branched from the Marar who remain temple drummers. Cultivation and government service supplement this role.
They are an indigenous people in the Nair people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Malayalam.
