The Kayamakhani of India
The Kayamakhani of India, numbering about 34,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Muslim community of Rajasthan descended from Chauhan Rajputs converted to Islam in the fourteenth century, tracing lineage to Kayam Khan. Traditionally soldiers and police, they also farm millet and have entered transport and trade.
They are an indigenous people in the Rajasthani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Urdu.
