The Nagarchi of India
The Nagarchi of India, numbering about 3,100 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a community of Madhya Pradesh once deployed as court messengers for the rulers of Mandla. Agricultural and non-agricultural labor now support most families, and they still play the nagara drum at births and marriages.
They are an indigenous people in the Gond people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Hindi.
