The Attagara of India
The Attagara of India, numbering about 7,400 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are an occupational caste of weavers in Andhra Pradesh who speak Kannada and Telugu. The Attagara trace their descent from Devanga Maharshi, weaver for the gods, and practice Shaivism, a branch of Hinduism that regards Shiva as the supreme deity.
They are an indigenous people in the Kanarese people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Shaivaism, and they primarily speak Kannada.
