The Dasa Palanjika of India
The Dasa Palanjika of India, numbering about 2,400 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Tamil Nadu landholding community also known as Kannada Chettiar, whose ancestors migrated from Mysore during the rule of Hyder Ali and Tipu Sultan to escape forced conversion to Islam, now small and marginal farmers.
They are an indigenous people in the Kanarese people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Kannada.
