The Bakuda of India
The Bakuda of India, numbering about 9,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Tulu-speaking Scheduled Caste community concentrated in coastal Karnataka and northern Kerala, organized into matrilineal clans (bari) and traditionally engaged in agricultural labor. They worship spirits (bhuta) such as Guliga and their community.
They are an indigenous people in the Other South Asian people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Tulu.
