The Moran of India

The Moran of India, numbering about 17,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a community of Dibrugarh district in Assam whose name recalls their origin as jungle-dwellers. The Moran follow the Mayamora Vaishnative sect of Hinduism. Agriculture has replaced shifting cultivation.

They are an indigenous people in the Assamese people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Mara.
