The Vadugan of India
The Vadugan of India, numbering about 21,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Telugu-descended community of Coimbatore, Madurai, and Tiruchirappalli districts, Tamil Nadu, and Palakkad district, Kerala, their name recalling northerners. Agriculture remains their principal occupation.
They are an indigenous people in the Kapu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Telugu.
