The Sunuwar of India
The Sunuwar of India, numbering about 38,500 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Kirati people of Himalayan origin whose ancestral homeland lies in eastern Nepal and whose communities in India, especially in Sikkim and Darjeeling, maintain a distinct language, clan identity, and cultural traditions.
They are an indigenous people in the South Himalayan people cluster of the Himalayan Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Sunwar.
