The Zakhrin of India
The Zakhrin of India, numbering about 600 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are one of the least-documented tribes of Arunachal Pradesh's Anjaw District, settled along the Lohit River near Walong and Kibithoo after two waves of migration from north of Tibet around 1800 and 1900, blending animism with adopted Tibetan Buddhism.
They are an indigenous people in the Other Tibeto-Burmese people cluster of the Tibetan Peoples. Their primary religion is Folk Buddhism, and they primarily speak Zakhring.
