The Chuhra of India
The Chuhra of India, numbering about 59,500 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Dogri-speaking Dalit community traditionally engaged in sweeping and sanitation work, historically following the Balmiki Hindu sect before waves of Sikh, Muslim, and Christian conversion swept parts of the wider Chuhra population elsewhere in Punjab.
They are an indigenous people in the Valmiki people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Dogri (individual language).
