The Khampa of India

The Khampa of India, numbering about 2,800 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Scheduled Tribe of Himachal Pradesh descended from Tibetan migrants who arrived roughly a century ago, named for Kham, a region of Tibet. Once sheep-herders, they are now itinerant traders and shopkeepers, following Tibetan Buddhism.

They are a diaspora people in the Tibetan people cluster of the Tibetan Peoples. Their primary religion is Tibetan Buddhism, and they primarily speak Khams Tibetan.
