The Nicar of India
The Nicar of India, numbering about 4,500 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a community of Una district in Himachal Pradesh believed descended from the Chamar, identified by their long hair and pink turbans. Agriculture now supplements their traditional trade of singing and dancing.
They are an indigenous people in the Other Tibeto-Burmese people cluster of the Tibetan Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Pahari-Potwari.
