The Abdal of India
The Abdal of India, numbering about 34,500 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a widely distributed Sunni Muslim community whose name is said to mean "lieutenant," traditionally known for playing the tambourine, singing religious songs, and collecting alms. In Bihar they also work in leather crafts and animal healing.
They are an indigenous people in the Urdu people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Urdu.
