The Anuppan of India
The Anuppan of India, numbering about 1,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a caste tracing origin to Mysore or South Canara, organized around the Allikulam lily-clan division and six territorial Medus groups each headed by a Periyadanakkaran, whose local tradition recalls a curse by a slain Kappiliyan chief.
They are an indigenous people in the Kanarese people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Kannada.
