The Kakkalan of India
The Kakkalan of India, numbering about 9,700 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Scheduled Caste community of Kerala, also known as Kakka Kuravan. Their traditional occupations include soothsaying, mat-weaving, tailoring, and palmistry. The Kakkalan are Hindu and many now work in agricultural or white-collar jobs.
They are an indigenous people in the Malayali people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Malayalam.
