The Kayastha of Nepal

The Kayastha of Nepal, numbering about 80,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a scribal caste whose name and record-keeping role for north Indian kingdoms trace to the Kushan Empire, reaching prominence under the Gupta dynasty's Prathama-Kayastha chief-scribe office, later spreading from Mithila and Odisha into Nepal.

They are an indigenous people in the Kayastha people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Nepali (individual language).
