The Sorgir of India
The Sorgir of India, numbering about 1,100 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a community of Haryana and Punjab, their name recalling the traditional extraction of saline soil called shora for salt-petre-making. Daily-wage and contract labor have replaced this declining craft.
They are an indigenous people in the Pashtun people cluster of the Persian-Median Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Panjabi.
