The Pohul of India
The Pohul of India, numbering about 3,200 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a shepherd community of the Kashmir valley, their name meaning shepherd, traditionally driving flocks to highland pastures each summer. Pastoral herding has declined, supplemented by agricultural labor and other trades.
They are an indigenous people in the Kashmiri people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Sunni Islam, and they primarily speak Kashmiri.
