The Lamgang of India
The Lamgang of India, numbering about 8,800 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Scheduled Tribe of 26 villages in Chandel district, Manipur, whose name means people settled on dry hilly land. Shifting cultivation remains their occupation, and nearly all are Baptists.
They are an indigenous people in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak Lamkang.
