The Khowa of India

The Khowa of India, numbering about 700 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a Scheduled Tribe of West Kameng district in Arunachal Pradesh, also called Bugun, speaking the Bugun language. Shifting cultivation remains their main occupation. They mainly follow local spirit worship although some are now Buddhists.

They are an indigenous people in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Folk Buddhism, and they primarily speak Bugun.
