The Pangul of India

The Pangul of India, numbering about 22,000 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a mendicant community of Ahmadnagar, Pune, and Nasik districts, Maharashtra, believed descended from a lame man devoted to Lord Shankar. Milk business and settled cultivation have largely replaced their traditional flute-begging.

They are an indigenous people in the Marathi-Konkani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Marathi.
