The Hatkar of India
The Hatkar of India, numbering about 420,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a caste community of Parbhani and Beed districts in Maharashtra, a branch of the Dhangar shepherd caste. They are now primarily agriculturists and agricultural laborers.
They are an indigenous people in the Marathi-Konkani people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Marathi.
