The Bhatu (Andamani) of India
The Bhatu (Andamani) of India, numbering about 400 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a migrant community whose ancestors were brought to the Andaman Islands from northern India during the British colonial period. Today, the Bhatu are part of the settler population of the Andaman Islands.
They are a diaspora people in the Hindi people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Andaman Creole Hindi.
