The Kwaza of Brazil

The Kwaza of Brazil, numbering about 35 people, are Unengaged and Unreached. They are a nearly vanished people of southeastern Rondonia whose language, a total isolate unrelated to any other known tongue, survives only among elders after ranchers displaced them from their lands following the 1960s opening of highway BR-364.

They are an indigenous people in the South American Indigenous people cluster of the Latin American and Caribbean Peoples. Their primary religion is Animism, and they primarily speak Portuguese.
