The Naskapi of Canada
The Naskapi of Canada, numbering about 1,400 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Subarctic Quebec-Labrador people whose name, recorded since the 17th century, means people beyond the horizon, following caribou until 1893 famines devastated the herds, later gaining autonomy under the 1984 Cree-Naskapi Act.
They are an indigenous people in the North American Indigenous people cluster of the North American Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak Naskapi.
