The Montagnais of Canada

The Montagnais of Canada, numbering about 11,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are an Innu people of Nitassinan in Labrador and Quebec, traditionally nomadic hunters who mastered snowshoe, toboggan, and birch bark canoe travel, meeting Basque fishermen in the 1500s before forced relocation led to founding the Innu Nation in 1990.

They are an indigenous people in the North American Indigenous people cluster of the North American Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak Innu.
