The Haisla of Canada

The Haisla of Canada, numbering about 2,100 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a First Nation formed in 1949 from the amalgamation of the Kitamaat, who call themselves Haisla or dwellers downriver, and the Kitlope, who call themselves Henaaksiala, remaining isolated in their remote inlet villages until a mission arrived in the 1890s.

They are an indigenous people in the North American Indigenous people cluster of the North American Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak English.
