The Haida of Canada
The Haida of Canada, numbering about 1,600 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Haida Gwaii people with an archaeological presence of at least 6,000 years, organized into matrilineal Raven and Eagle moieties, whose population fell from roughly 20,000 in the mid-1700s to fewer than 600 by the late 1800s under introduced epidemics.
They are an indigenous people in the North American Indigenous people cluster of the North American Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak English.
