The Gitxsan of Canada
The Gitxsan of Canada, numbering about 8,500 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a matrilineal Skeena River people of northern British Columbia with roughly 10,000 years of presence in their territory, who blockaded the river during the 1872 Skeena Rebellion and later led the landmark 1997 Delgamuukw case recognizing Aboriginal title.
They are an indigenous people in the North American Indigenous people cluster of the North American Peoples. Their primary religion is Protestantism, and they primarily speak Nisga'a.
