The Dache of Ethiopia
The Dache of Ethiopia, numbering about 11,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Gamo-speaking subgroup of the broader Gamo ethnolinguistic complex of southwestern Ethiopia. They preserve a distinct community identity through local traditions, kinship ties, agriculture, and shared Gamo cultural heritage.
They are an indigenous people in the Omotic people cluster of the Horn of Africa Peoples. Their primary religion is Tewahedo Orthodox Christianity, and they primarily speak Gamo.
