The Pentia of India
The Pentia of India, numbering about 12,000 people, are No Longer Unreached. They are a Scheduled Tribe of Koraput district in Odisha also called Penthia or Holva, named for their former settlement, pantikona. Settled cultivation and agricultural labor remain primary, supplemented by forest produce gathering.
They are an indigenous people in the South Asian Tribal people cluster of the South Asian Peoples. Their primary religion is Folk Hinduism, and they primarily speak Odia.
