The Lois of India
The Lois of India, numbering about 77,000 people, are Engaged yet Unreached. They are a Scheduled Caste of Manipur historically banished from Meitei society for violating kinship norms, speaking the Meitei dialect Chakpa. Cultivation, liquor distilling, and sericulture remain their occupations.
They are an indigenous people in the Manipuri people cluster of the Himalayan Peoples. Their primary religion is Hinduism, and they primarily speak Manipuri.
